Almsgiving

 “Operation Rice Bowl”

Use the “Operation Rice Bowl” program as a way to support Catholic Relief Services’ ministry to our vulnerable world neighbors. You can use the envelope in your offertory packet.

Special Collections

Contribute to the Little Sisters of the Poor and their work at Holy Family Residence on the weekend of March 23-24.

Socks and Boxers—bring in new socks and boxers during Lent for the needy served by St. Francis Inn, Philadelphia. Boxes will be placed by the exits of the church the weekend of April 6 & 7.

Holy Childhood Collection—Our CCD students will collect money for the Holy Childhood Association which supports children around the world who need financial assistance.

Summer Swim Drive
Get a head start on the summer. You can donate bathing suits (children and adult sizes), towels, flip flops and sunscreen. A box will be available in the back of the church. the collection will continue through June.

Fasting

Observe the Church’s guidelines for fasting and abstinence throughout Lent.

Fasting—On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, Catholics from ages 18-59 are obliged to eat only one full meal and two minimal meals. No meat is to be eaten on these days. Medical necessity would excuse one from this requirement.

Abstinence—Ash Wednesday, each Friday during Lent, and Good Friday are also days of abstinence. No meat is to be eaten on these days. This discipline applies to Catholics 14 years of age and older.

Parish Mission

Attend this interactive time of reflection with our pastor,

Fr. Edwards on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, (March 31, April 1 & 2). Sessions will start at 7:00 p.m. and take place in the school chapel.

Stations of the Cross

Pray the stations every Friday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Special presentations of the stations include:

                Mary’s Way of the Cross, Friday, April 12

                Living Stations of the Cross presented by the Youth

                Group on Good Friday, April 19 at 8:00 p.m.

Project My Testament

Contribute your reflection on the “Question of the Week” to Project My Testament by placing it in the box in the back of the church, by email, Face Book, or dropping it in the collection.

Adult Faith Formation

Lenten Scripture Series

Examine the Passion narratives of each of the four gospels with Deacon Jan on the Mondays of March (March 4, 11, 18, and 25) in the school’s multipurpose room, basement level.

Sessions run from 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Video Series on the Mass

Come five minutes early to Mass on Saturday evening and Sunday morning beginning the first Sunday of Lent, March 9 & 10, to view a brief video series explaining the parts of the Mass. Created by the Word and Worship Coordinating Teams, this six-part series is meant to enhance our understanding of the most important prayer we have as Catholics--the Mass.

“The Light is on for You.” Celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation every Monday from 5:30 -7:00 p.m.

Eucharistic Adoration

Spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament every Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in the school chapel.

“The Road to Resurrection”

Attend Mass in local churches and hear themed homilies by the Rev. Joseph Sica. Mass begins at 7:00 p.m.
